Job Description





Position Title: Sr. Graphic Designer




Job Summary:


Create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. Develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and web graphics.



 

 

Reports To: VP Advertising & New Media



Essential Functions: 


●  Meet with Executives or the Web/Ecomm Director to determine the scope of a project


●  Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience


●  Determine the message the design should portray


●  Create designs that convey a message and supports the brand


●  Develop graphics for product POP, logos, and website


●  Select colors, images, text style, and layout


●  Present the design with compelling support to Executives


●  Incorporate changes recommended by Executives into the final design


●  Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them



 

 

Job Requirements



 
 

●  



• BA in Graphic Design/Communication, Creative or similar degree or equivalent experience


• 10+ years of related work experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience (retail design experience preferred)



 

Requirements:

Combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images and the layout of websites and printed pages. Use a variety of design elements to achieve artistic or decorative effects.


This is an important role to the Marketing department of Star Furniture. It requires working closely with a variety of stakeholders including Executives, Buying Team, Visual Display and Web Content associates.



 


 

Qualifications:


• Ability to juggle multiple projects


• Proven ability to work in all medias with a heavy concentration in print and interactive


• Intelligent thinking, strong organizational skills, and accuracy


• Spanish fluency a plus



Competencies:


• Creativity


• Typography


• Software; Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop), Office 365 Suite (Power Point, Word)


• Web Deisgn (general knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus)


• Communication
