Job Description

Sales Manager/Store Manager

Star Furniture Company (San Antonio/Austin) is now accepting applications for Sales Management with a career path towards store management.  Opportunities are in San Antonio and Austin, Texas
Responsibilities would include achieving all company goals of profitability through hiring, training, coaching and motivating sales staff. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism while developing a successful retail sales team.
Some nights and most weekends required. The position reports to the Store Manager and in some instances, would act in the capacity of the store manager. Sales management or retail management experience a plus. Computer and administrative skills are required.  




  1. The basic purpose of the job is:


To achieve all company goals of profitability through the coaching, training, and motivation of the sales staff. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and dedication toward company goals and policies.


 


  • The essential functions of the job are:

  • Set and monitor work schedule for sales staff to insure proper floor coverage

  • Monitor and administer vacation schedules

  • Set up and control the UP system

  • Record daily activities of each sales consultant

  • Number of Ups

  • Number of closes

  • Number of sales with merchandise out of more than one category

  • Develop and control prospect system/thank-you notes

  • Assure proper training of sales consultants

  • Product Knowledge

  • Sales policies and procedures
