We are searching for a part-time Office Associate to join the Star Furniture team! This is an exciting opportunity if you enjoy multi-tasking with a variety of administrative duties and delivering superior customer service!

This position will service and assist our internal and external customers and process the paperwork required to complete a sale. This position will require some evening and weekend schedules.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Caring and cheerful demeanor in assisting people.

Answers incoming calls, takes messages, and pages Sales Associates for assistance.

Receives customer payments.

Requests customer refunds.

Reviews for completeness, scans, and invoices merchandise sales contracts and credit memos.

Verifies customer checks, handles cash payments, and obtains credit card authorization.

Schedules customer merchandise deliveries and requests delivery exceptions from the warehouse.

Scans and reviews credit applications.

Post reports for sales.

Prepares Store Report including balancing cash, checks, and credit card receipts, and preparing bank deposits.

Counts money in cash drawer.

Works various reports and screens, such as: cut-off, fall-out, 86M, Lotus Notes, and credit memo/backorder.

Follows up on customer delivery as needed.

Sets up and updates customer account master file.

Participates in office meetings.


Part-time employees are provided vacation, sick pay, and discounts on furniture.

Job Requirements


Administrative, clerical, and strong customer skills are required. Accounting and finance experience a plus.

Reading, writing, and communication skills in English are required.

Basic PC knowledge.

Experience with office equipment, fax machine, computer, laser printer, receipt printer, check machine, credit card machine, and scanner.

Ability to work some evenings and weekend schedules.

Good credit history.

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
