Job Description – Office Associate



We are searching for an Office Associate to join the Star Furniture team. This is an exciting opportunity if you enjoy multi-tasking with a variety of administrative duties and delivering superior customer service!



This position will service and assist our internal and external customers and process the paperwork required to complete a sale.



The Essential Job Duties are:


  • Caring and cheerful demeanor in assisting people.

  • Answer incoming calls, takes messages, and pages Sales Associates.

  • Receive customer payments.

  • Request customer refunds.

  • Review for completeness, scan, and invoice merchandise sales contracts and credit memos.

  • Verify customer checks, handle cash payments, and obtain credit card authorization.

  • Schedule customer merchandise deliveries and request delivery exceptions from the warehouse.

  • Scan credit applications and review answers.

  • Post reports for sales.

  • Prepare Store Report including balancing cash, checks, and credit card receipts, and preparing bank deposits.

  • Count money in cash drawer.

  • Work various reports and screen, such as, cut-off, fall-out, 86M, Lotus Notes, and credit memo/backorder.

  • Follow up on customer deliveries as needed.

  • Set up and update customer account master file.

  • Participate in office meetings.

Job Requirements

  • Administrative, clerical, and strong customer skills required. Accounting or finance experience a plus.

  • Reading, writing, and communication skills in English are required.

  • Basic PC knowledge.

  • Experience with office equipment, fax machine, computer, laser printer, receipt printer, check machine, credit card machine, and scanner.

  • Good credit history.

  • Will work a varied schedule.
