Merchandising Operations Coordinator


Works with the Visual team, Buying team, and Store team to develop and implement the company’s visual merchandising strategy. The role of the Merchandising Operations Coordinator is to produce floor plans, communicate timelines for projects, and support the Buying and Visual teams.


Reports To: Visual Merchandising Manager


Essential Functions:



•         Responsible for the floor planning process – this includes bubble planning, fixture planning, and product placement



•         Distributes the final merchandise plan to Stores, Buyers, and Regional Visual Coordinator



•         Responsible for updates and changes to individual store layouts as necessary



•         Communicates final product placement to Stores, Visual team, and Buying team



•         Ensures understanding of the company merchandising strategy, as related to floor planning with all relevant parties



•         Adjusts space allocation changes to layouts as directed by the Buyer



•         Facilitate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, managing project timelines



•         Maintains a current, accurate and up-to-date project file with drawings and correspondence

Supervisory Responsibility: None.


Work Environment:


This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, tablets and other office equipment.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:


This is position and hours of work would routinely be 40+ hours per week.  Given the nature of the position, there may be occasions that extra hours and travel may be required.

Education, training, and experience:


Requirements:



•         Experience with AutoCAD is required



•         2-3 years of experience in Merchandising, Planning, Project Coordination or similar Design-focused role



•         1-2 years of administrative experience



•         Knowledge of merchandise and its locations



•         Knowledge of company sales system



•         Ability to communicate and write in English


Qualifications:



•         Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandising or similar field is highly preferred



•         Associate’s Degree in relevant field plus applicable work experience will be considered



•         Design experience in a retail or furniture environment is highly preferred
